Cisco Certification Exams
Cisco certification exams are administered by two testing companies; Pearson and Prometric. Both of these companies have hundreds of testing locations all around the world and every country offers the exams in English. The exams may also be offered in other languages depending upon location. The Cisco certification exams are taken in person at these authorized locations. To register for an examination, you need to contact the testing company directly to pay the fee and schedule your appointment for the exam. You can register for the Cisco certification exams online up to six weeks in advance of the test. As long as openings are available, you can schedule exams at the last minute also. The results of your Cisco certification exams will be available as a pass or fail grade on the testing company website 48 hours after you take the exam.
There are numerous Cisco certification exams which can be taken depending upon which track of study you have undertaken in these categories: Design, Switching and Routing, Security, Storage Networking, Service Provider, Specialist, and Voice. There are close to 100 examinations all totaled. Some of them take an hour or two to complete and others are full eight hour tests that require working on lab simulations. Certifications are good for three years at which time they expire. The Cisco certification exams must them be retaken or replaced with a higher level examination.
