How To Become MCSE Certified
If you want a career in a high paying IT field then you will want to become MCSE certified. MCSE stands for Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer. As you well know, Microsoft software and systems are in wide use in business and military applications all over the world today and the demand is strong for qualified professionals to install, monitor, troubleshoot, and repair these systems. You can learn these skills and more when you take MCSE training and when you pass the certification exams, you prove to the world that you truly are a highly qualified and valuable employee.
Currently you can become MCSE certified in Windows 2000 or Windows 2003. To be certified in Windows 2000, you need to pass 7 examinations. Four exams cover operating systems, one is a design exam and the other two are electives. To be MCSE certified in Windows 2003, you must pass 7 exams also, four of these are networking examinations, one is on operating systems and one is on design. The last is an elective.
In order to take and pass these examinations so you can become MCSE certified, you will need to undergo rigorous study and get a lot of hands-on experience working in the field of IT. You can undergo training in whatever way fits best with your lifestyle. For example, you may choose to take the classes as part of your university work towards a computer science degree. If this is the case, you will probably take up to 4 semesters to complete the education you will need in order to pass the exams and become MCSE certified. If you don't want to spend that long on your training, then you may want to consider attending a boot camp which is an accelerated and concentrated learning environment lasting approximately 14 days.
You could also choose to attend your classes online through web based self paced learning. There are also other options such as classes on DVD. You will have to assess your current level of skill along with your learning style to determine which would be the best choice for you. If you already have a few years of hands-on experience but just lack the credentials, then an accelerated boot camp may be for you if you can devote a full two weeks to the program. If you have never worked in an IT environment then it is probably a better idea for you to take structured classes even if it does take you a year or two to complete so you will learn the skills you need to become MCSE certified and enter the workplace. When you have completed your MCSE training and practiced on mock examinations, it is time to take your certification exams. Even if you take your classes online, you must take the MCSE examination at an authorized testing center. These centers are located all over the US and around the world, so you should easily be able to find one particularly if you live in a medium to large city. Once you pass your certification exams you are officially MCSE certified and can look forward to a bright future with a well paying career in IT.
